2020 TLC@HOME Campaign- A Word From Shelley
Tlc@Home has been a part of my heart for more than 15 years now and I know it has been a part of many hearts here in Saskatoon and area. The HairStyle Inn Salons, the founding partner of TLC@Home wanted to give back to the community in which we live work and play. We gave shoe boxes crammed with socks, hats and mitts, toothbrushes and toothpaste, books and toys to just 30 children at Princess Alexandra school in 2006. This was just the beginning of touching the lives of children here in Saskatoon.
Valued Partnerships
As the years passed the community joined in enabling us to touch more lives. Soon we had partners with Global Tv and Cameco, then came Cruz FM and Trusted Saskatoon, then Wiegers’s financial and benefits followed by West Portal Church and most recently Save On Foods. We are thrilled that the community and partners have made it possible to be able to reach up to 997 children in 5 elementary schools in a year. This year our numbers are down due some Covid-19 challenges, but once again you have all come through make it happen. There been years when we are not sure how, but the goal is set and all of you amazingly make it all happen!! THANK YOU EVERYONE!! 🧡🧡🧡 we most certainly couldn’t have done what we have done, touched the lives we have touched or received smiles and hugs we have received. We have been blessed by the generosity of many and the appreciation by many others.
Covid and Collections
This year while we can’t accept volunteers we can accept your donations of items for the boxes, remember shoe box size. We also accept cash donations all year long. Just know that all that is donated goes directly to the child. All the support material is paid by the partners. All the time and energy to make this all happen is completely volunteered.
This year we need games, books and craft items for the all kids ages 4-14. All donations will be gratefully received at HairStyle Inn Salon either at Lawson Heights Mall or the Centre Mall on 8th.
We are grateful for each and every donation no matter how large or small.
Thank you everyone!
With warmth and cheer,
Shelley
